Collins Booksellers announced yesterday that it’ll be selling the Kobo Vox eReader this week. It’s an Android tablet,  which means you can read in colour if that’s something that floats your boat. But it also means that unlike e-ink type devices you’ll have pretty crap battery life and will get tired eyes from the backlit screen. Kobo is trying to use the Vox to make reading a “social” experience, with people able to discuss their favourite books with the Kobo community using the device. It wouldn’t be my cup of tea, but if it’s yours, then you can get it for a special price over Christmas of $269.99. (Normally it costs $299.99).
